Frequently Asked Questions

Why harvest rain?

It saves money.
Why pay increasing water rates if you can use rain to water plants?

It's resourceful.
Water is our most valued natural resource. Protect it by reducing your tap water usage.

It's proactive.
Don't compromise or lose plants due to water rationing or drought.

It's natural.
Rain doesn't have chlorine, fluoride, chemicals, or minerals like tap water does.

It's responsible.
Reduce stress that rain puts on municipal
waste-water systems. Help decrease the chance of sewage dumps into rivers, lakes & streams.

How do rain barrels work?

Rain rolls off your roof,
into your gutters,
through the downspout,
over the rain barrel screen
and into your rain barrel.

Water your plants from a hose connected to the spigot or fill your watering can.

Rain barrel functionality

Entry Port
Has a barrier to keep mosquitos and gutter debris out of the barrel.

Secondary Ports
Ports can be used to monitor the water level and drain the barrel in fall.

Overflow Exit
Exits are engineered at the barrel top so overflow exits the barrel through a standard 5/8" garden hose. Top based exits maximize spigot pressure.

Spigot
Every barrel has a durable brass spigot compatible to a standard 5/8" garden hose. Multi-barrel systems can use the spigots simultaneously.
